2021 HBS: Cryo Pop™ Roundtable
With one of the only labs in the world capable of analyzing aromatic compounds previously unidentifiable, we have been able to discover the most beer soluble hop compounds. Kevin PatricioCo-founder and CEO of Basqueland Brewing
Kevin is an American living in San Sebastian. He was born in Baltimore and spent most of his adult life in New York City. Kevin began his career in food rather than beer, working at Food & Wine magazine but soon focused more on cooking. At the age of 28 he left his comfortable position at the magazine to embark on his career as a cook. He cooked at some of NY’s culinary temples such as The Red Cat and Blue Hill, and visited Spain for an internship at Arzak Restaurant.
Kevin’s life has been sculpted by food but it is the gastronomic experience that defines his motivation & It was his search for the perfect experience that led him to his latest business. Kevin helped his wife’s family open La Madame in 2001 as head chef. He cooked and prepared the wine and cocktail list. This led to his latest venture. Beer!
“I thought we could improve the customer experience. We had all the tools. But there was no good local beer at that time. So with my then friends and now partners (and friends) we decided to make beer!” Kevin, as co-founder and CEO, opened Basqueland Brewing in Gipuzkoa in September 2015. It is currently one of the best craft beers in Spain.
